Output Power of a Tesla Powerwall 3

The biggest difference between the Powerwall 2 & the Powerwall 3 is the output power of a Tesla Powerwall 3.

The higher power output of 11.04kW, allows for powering high-load items such as electric vehicle chargers, electric showers, and heat pumps, from stored energy in a single Powerwall 3. The ability to do this with a Powerwall 3 enhances your independence from the grid.

Solar and battery power outputs may be constrained by National Grid limitations, which vary across different grid connections. The unique flexibility of Powerwall 3 allows you to adjust the power output, ensuring you can maximise your grid connection’s allocated power.

Is the Powerwall 3 Suitable For Me?

Powerwall 3 and Powerwall 2 cannot be installed together. If you already have an existing Powerwall system and need to increase capacity, you will need to purchase an additional Powerwall 2 battery.

Tesla Powerwall 3 offers notable enhancements in continuous power output, load start capacity, integrated inverter, EV charger support, and a maximum solar DC input of 20 kW. If your household requires more than a 5 kW continuous load, plans to expand your solar PV system significantly, want to install an integrated EV charger, or your inverter needs replacing, upgrading to the Powerwall 3 could be a preferable option.

However, if your current Powerwall 2 meets your backup needs and you don’t need the higher power output or increased solar capacity, the upgrade might not be worth the cost since both models provide the same 13.5kWh energy capacity and a 10-year warranty.

Depending on your requirements the Powerwall 2 might be the best option over the Powerwall 3, if you are unsure on this speak to one of our solar experts today.
