We installed a comprehensive solar array comprising of more than 500 panels at the University of Exeter, covering approximately 800 square metres of roof space on the sports hall.
The Solar PV system is projected to generate 124,929 kWh of electricity annually for the University, with all of the generated energy being utilised on site to optimise solar consumption.
The main driver for this second, follow-up installation, was due to Solar PV dropping in price to such an extent that the system made sense economically without subsidy support.
We were chosen by the University for its first project in its Low Carbon Commitment Implementation plan (LCCIP), as part of their dedication to reducing emissions. This initiative marks the beginning of a broader collaboration between the University and SunGift, aimed at identifying the most cost-effective methods for supplying low-carbon power and heat across the campus.
