In the spirit of giving back, Karis & Aiking two employees from SunGift Solar recently organised a delightful cake sale that not only satisfied sweet cravings but also contributed to two worthy causes—Dementia UK and the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
The cake sale raised, an impressive £212.90, which was split between Dementia UK and the Motor Neurone Disease Association. Both charities play crucial roles in supporting individuals and families affected by these challenging conditions. The funds raised will go towards vital research, patient care, and support services, making an impact on the lives of those affected by dementia and motor neurone disease.
Both Karis and Aiking will be participating in running races this year in aid of each of their chosen charities.
Karis is running the London Landmarks Half Marathon in aid of Dementia UK for her Grandad Reg & Grandad Ivor. “In tribute to these significant figures in my life, I’ve committed to running the London Landmarks Half Marathon for Dementia UK. This charity plays a crucial role in assisting families affected by dementia, a cause I’ve witnessed first-hand”. Dementia UK has provided invaluable support to Karis’s Nan, and her Grandad Ivor regularly participates in their supportive weekly workshops.
Aiking will be running not only his first marathon but his second too within one week of each other. Participating in both the Manchester and Brighton Marathon this year Aiking has a true challenge ahead of him. Raising funds for Motor Neurone Disease Association (MND) in dedication to his best friend’s mum. The MND Association focuses on improving access to care, research and campaigning for those people living with or affected by MND in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
We would like to say a huge THANK YOU to each and every person and in particular employees at SunGift who have supported Aiking & Karis in the lead-up to the event so far, generous donations, kind words of encouragement and belief that they can do this.
